Philip James Shannon - Photographer

Philip James Shannon has worked and exhibited both in this country and abroad. In his landscapes, cityscapes, seascapes and abstract photographic images his eye sees and captures the beauty in seemingly mundane and abandoned locations. His recent swimming pool series shot in a disused lido in Funchal, Madeira, can be described as modern impressionistic lithographs. Philip is mindful of the geometrical lines and curves in the urban environment, and the juxtaposition of colour, light and texture which he reveals in his architectural photographs.
