My aim is to bring to life the strangest inhabitants of the human mind.
With a slightly surreal touch and an eye for detail and distortion, my work explores the beautiful and the grotesque in equal measure. Each idea evolves somewhere in the fragile borderlands between waking and dreaming; a surreal, uncertain landscape that takes shape slowly, eventually congealing into something solid enough to be extracted and made real. I celebrate the macabre and the raw, visceral nature of instinct, emotion and the subconscious.
Over time my drawings have begun to escape the flat realm of the page and transmogrify into a menagerie of sinister creatures with transfixed expressions, staring glassy eyes and vivid, open mouths. I love narrative and hope that my work compels people to evolve their own tales to explain the presence of these unnatural beasts.
