Bridget Jones is a British photographer who studied photography at the London College of Printing and began her career working in the studios of Alistair Thain and the artists Gilbert and George. Fuji sponsored a trip to photograph the people of the Okavango Delta in Botswana. Many portrait commissions followed as well as editorial work for The Times newspaper and the Sunday Times and Independent magazines.
Bridget Jones has photographed movie stars such as Sir Anthony Hopkins, Frances McDormand and Jude Law as well as many leading figures in the arts world including composer Michael Nyman, opera singer Emma Shapplin and Turner Prize-winner Gillian Wearing. Other subjects have nothing to do with the world of celebrity. One of her current projects includes a series of photographs of men and women in aprons with their thoughts on feminism.
There have been several exhibitions of Bridget Jones photographs in London In May 2007 her work was shown at the opening of the Berardo Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Lisbon. In the same year Bridget Jones was the guest Artist in a group show (Body and Matter) of five in Centro das Artes, Casa das Mudas, Madeira, Portugal. In December of that year Bridget exhibited portraits of fourteen artists, including a self-portrait in a joint show entitled Quartos vagos also in Madeira. In 2008 Body and Matter was shown in Sinatra Museum of Modern Art in Lisbon.
